This blog was originally published in my Education Community Ecosystem.

This blog talks about what are 10 different advantages of podcasts over other media.

If you ask me, Podcast was very new to me 3 years back in 2019. Though I subscribed to a lot of podcast channels on major platforms like Spotify, anchor, and google podcast, ..but I found them like Radio broadcasts.

When I spoke about it to my ever-curious Life-Long Learner Grandparents, their initial reaction — “Is it not a reincarnation of old Radio broadcasts with a brand new name — P-o-d-c-a-ssss-t !”

This perception changed when I listened to my Digital Mentor Siddharth Rajsekhar’s Podcast. I have been part of his Digital Coaching Tribe since Aug 2020. Recently he has completed 100 podcasts.

Heart to Heart (H2H!) connection happens in Podcast — Whether you agree or not — It’s from my practical experience.

Now I am going to share my key Learnings from his podcast:

  1. Art of Crisp Communication Skill:

Clear and concise content in a short span of time delivered through podcast

2. Art of Mindful Thinking:

Ability to make everything on our minds and put them in bullet points in notepad. While speaking we can expand those bullet points.

3. Art of Answering the Unanswered:

Many times we don’t have a direct answer to our customers in our own communities, but later on, we can go back to the drawing board- do research, prepare answers, and deliver in a podcast.

4. Art of Building Deeper Connection:

A podcast helps you make a deeper connection with your customers especially when you have paid customer base.

5. Art of Repurposing Content:

Format and Flow of content are important when you deliver content. It’s always not a good idea to create video content and re-use its audio as a podcast. In a true sense, it is not a podcast. Rather it is wise to create a podcast first and repurpose this content in your video.

6. Art of Solopodcast:

Though there are different approaches for doing podcasts like interview style (which is more popular due to influencers), solo podcast- one should find his own sweet spot in this. The solo podcast helps to reach your existing/new customers in a deeply meaningful way. So, it is more effective.

7. Art of Sharing Inspired Ideas:

Ideas can come anytime anywhere in our day-to-day life. We should be receptive to new ideas and capture them. Then take inspired action on those ideas and share creative thoughts with your community.

8. Art of Fast Content Delivery:

As audio productions do have less production time, Podcasts can be delivered within a short time span. A full-fledged podcast can be done within 60 minutes.

9. Art of Traffic Building:

Embedding podcasts in your blogs is advisable rather than sharing direct podcast links with your audience. Through long-form comments, newcomers can get inspired. It will increase SEO organically and drive traffic to blogs and grow traffic.

10. Art of Content Therapy through Reinforcement Learning:

Podcasting can be used as a form of content therapy. Doing a podcast involves 3 stages of Learning reinforcement namely the Planning Phase, Production Phase, and Post-production Phase — In all 3 phases learning reinforcement happens.

When you hear your own voice, you live by that as it goes deep into your subconscious level.
